Beer Tasting is Back!

LBADCTastingRoomwVisitorsAfter a short hiatus, we now are able to again offer beer samples to visitors on our tour! The tour of Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company is an awesome two-for-one, as it includes our Town Branch Distillery (which is part of the famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail!) as well as our brewery that is well-known for the Kentucky Ale family of beers. Samples of our spirits have been available since the distillery opened in October 2012, but beer sampling at the brewery ceased in July 2012 after the brewery grew too large to qualify for a tasting permit under Kentucky law. After a change in that law during the spring legislative session, our brewery is now able to offer beer samples again as part of its regular tour.

Now, visitors 21 and over will receive four tasting tickets to taste their choice of the company’s five beers and three spirits. The tour ticket price will remain the same at $7 per person, though the length of each tour will increase slightly to one hour and 15 minutes.CindyExplains

Tours start in the Visitor Center, move to the brewery and beer tasting, then continue across the street at the distillery for a tour of the barrel room, pot stills room and spirits tasting. Beer will not be sold onsite, but spirits and merchandise will continue to be sold.

Visitor Center Hours:
Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Tours every hour on the hour
$7 per person

My wife and I did the tour this past Saturday. Better than ever now that the beer tasting is back!

  2. Here is my blog post about Town Branch –

We had a blast! I have drank a significant amount of your IPA, the Sundown, and bourbon barrel ale since then. I am so glad KY has such a variety of great beverages to call our own.
